The Born Savage Outdoors Story!

The Born Savage Outdoors Story

Let’s get this out of the way: Yes, our founder is actually named Savage. No, she didn’t change it when it became cool, She was born with it. Named after a rifle company and raised in the backwoods of Wisconsin, She been outdoorsy since before hashtags existed.

She grew up chasing adventure in places most folks wouldn’t bother to walk. Fishing sun-up to sundown, camping in sideways rain, hunting at dawn, and hiking until her legs said “we’re done.” The wild wasn’t just a place, it was her peace, her teacher, and sometimes, her only escape.

Then came the Marines. She served on the Lioness Team, conducting search and seizure missions on the Iraq/Syria border. It was intense, humbling, and life-altering. She came home with scars you could see, and some you couldn’t. She was medically retired, and like a lot of veterans, she faced a long stretch of “now what?”

Life didn’t exactly slow down. She battled injuries, survived cancer, twice, and worked her way through the kind of chaos that doesn’t show up in highlight reels. She did what many women do: She held it all together for everyone else, even when she was falling apart.

Somewhere in that fog, something clicked. She was tired of trying to fit into a life, a size, a role, or a pair of men's camo pants that were never made for her. She wanted something that actually fit: her body, her grit, and the way she show up in this world.

So, she built Born Savage Outdoors.

Not during the Marines. Not during the chaos. But after. After the war, after the survival mode, after the labels. When she finally asked, what do I want to create? And the answer was simple:

A brand for women who don’t shrink to fit anything, especially not their gear.

Our Mission

Born Savage Outdoors was built for the women who don’t wait for permission, who take the trail less traveled, blaze their own damn path, and do it all without having to adjust a waistband every five minutes.

We’re here to close the gap in outdoor gear, because the truth is, most of it wasn’t made for us. It was made for men, resized, and called “unisex.” But we’re not buying it, and we’re definitely not wearing it.

Our mission is to design gear that fits a woman’s body, supports her strength, and matches her mindset. Whether you're deep in the woods or juggling life off the grid, you deserve outdoor apparel that works with you, not against you.

But we’re more than gear, we’re a movement. A community. A rally cry for every woman who’s ever felt overlooked, underestimated, or told she wasn’t “outdoorsy enough.” We’re here to prove you don’t have to look a certain way, weigh a certain amount, or have grown up in the wilderness to belong outside.

Born Savage Outdoors exists to remind women that they were never meant to squeeze in, they were born to gear up, stand tall, and take up space.

Our Values

Fit. Function. Fire.

We believe women deserve gear that does more than “make do.” It should move, breathe, and fit, without compromise.

Confidence Without Conformity.

Born Savage Outdoors doesn’t cater to the status quo. We serve the bold, the gritty, and the women who don’t need permission to be powerful.

Built with Purpose. Backed by Grit.

Every stitch, every strap, every design decision is made with real women in mind. Not mannequins. Not marketing trends. You.

Community Over Competition.

We don’t do gatekeeping. Whether you’re a seasoned hunter or just learning how to pitch a tent, if you’re out there, you belong here.

Authenticity Always.

We show the real stuff: the wins, the wipeouts, and everything in between. No filters, no fakes. Just women showing up for themselves and each other.

Why Born Savage?

Because out here, fitting in is overrated.

You weren’t made to shrink, smooth out, or sit still. You were made to lead, to laugh, to gear up and go all in, on the trail, in life, and wherever the wild calls.

This isn’t just clothing. It’s a statement. A community. A reminder that you were never meant to blend in.

You were Born Savage.
And we’re just getting started.
